O meu nome é Andrea Inocêncio, sou artista visual, investigadora e professora. Nasci em Coimbra em 1977 e, actualmente, vivo e trabalho entre a Figueira da Foz e Matosinhos.
A minha prática artística move-se entre o desenho e a arte urbana, entre a fotografia e a performance, passando igualmente pela instalação e pelo livro de artista. Colaboro com artistas e investigadores provenientes de várias áreas procurando, através destes encontros, criar sinergias e explorar a transdisciplinaridade. Estou, também, comprometida no engajamento de comunidades em processos criativos, e numa relação sustentável com o meio e a sociedade.
Desde 1996, exponho e apresento performances regularmente em Portugal e no estrangeiro. Estou representada em colecções particulares e institucionais a nível nacional e internacional, realizei residências artísticas, e recebi várias bolsas e prémios dos quais se destacam a residência Art-Science/Technology “BIOASSEMBLER - Integrating bio-inspired assembly into semiconductor manufacturing technology for biosensors” (Finlândia), a residência artística no Novo Ciclo ACERT (Tondela), o Apoio à Internacionalização da Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian (Canadá), a bolsa de viagem KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Estocolmo), o Concurso Projetos Artísticos Serralves em Festa (Porto), a bolsa INOV-ART/DGArtes (Barcelona), o Apoio à Internacionalização do Instituto Camões (Argentina), a bolsa Eurodissée (Paris), bolsa PAAD – Projecto Atlântico de Arte Digital (Canárias), a bolsa de criação artística da DRAC – Direcção Regional da Cultura (Açores) e a distinção como Createur d’aujourd’hui pela Federation Nationale de la Culture Française.
Sou investigadora integrada na esad—idea, onde organizo e coordeno o programa “Caminhadas Exploratório/Exploratório Walks”. Sou doutorada em Arte Contemporânea, com a tese Silêncio - a procura do avesso do espaço urbano (ou do avesso de mim). Fui professora auxiliar convidada na Universidade de Aveiro, assistente convidada na Escola Superior de Educação do Instituto Politécnico de Viseu (ESEV-IPV), e na Escola Superior de Educação do Instituto Politécnico de Coimbra (ESEC-IPC). Fui bolseira de investigação no Centro de Estudos Sociais da Universidade de Coimbra (CES-UC), no projeto "ALL Artist-Led Learning in Higher Education", financiado pelo Erasmus+.
Vivi também nos Açores, Lisboa, Porto, Madrid, Barcelona e Paris. Falo português, espanhol, inglês e francês. Sou amante de caminhadas na natureza, surfing e banhos de mar.
My name is Andrea Inocêncio, I'm a visual artist, researcher and teacher. I was born in Coimbra in 1977 and currently live and work between Figueira da Foz and Matosinhos.
My artistic practice moves between drawing and urban art, photography and performance, as well as installation and artist's books. I collaborate with artists and researchers from various fields, seeking to create synergies and explore transdisciplinarity through these encounters. I am also committed to engaging communities in creative processes and to a sustainable relationship with the environment and society.
I have exhibited and presented performances regularly since 1996, in Portugal and abroad. I am represented in private and institutional collections at national and international level, have carried out artistic residencies, and have received various grants and awards, including the Art-Science/Technology residency ‘BIOASSEMBLER - Integrating bio-inspired assembly into semiconductor manufacturing technology for biosensors’ (Finland), the artistic residency at Novo Ciclo ACERT (Tondela), the Internationalisation Support Program from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (Canada), the KTH Royal Institute of Technology travel grant (Stockholm), winner of the Serralves em Festa Artistic Projects Competition (Porto), the INOV-ART/DGArtes grant (Barcelona), Internationalisation Support Program from the Camões Institute (Argentina), the Eurodissée grant (Paris), the PAAD grant - Atlantic Digital Art Project (Canary Islands), the artistic creation grant from DRAC - Regional Directorate for Culture (Azores) and an honour as Createur d’aujourd’hui by the Federation Nationale de la Culture Française.
I am an integrated researcher at esad-idea, where I organise and coordinate the "Exploratório Walks/Caminhadas Exploratório" programme. I have a PhD in Contemporary Art, with the thesis Silêncio - a procura do avesso do espaço urbano (ou do avesso de mim). I was a visiting assistant professor at the University of Aveiro, a guest assistant at the School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu (ESEV-IPV), and at the School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra (ESEC-IPC). I was a research fellow at the Centre for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra (CES-UC), in the project ‘ALL Artist-Led Learning in Higher Education’, funded by Erasmus+.
I've also lived in the Azores, Lisbon, Porto, Madrid, Barcelona and Paris. I speak Portuguese, Spanish, English and French. I love nature walks, surfing and swimming in the sea.
